What sets us apart?

I was on our stand this week at Business Fest South West and a lady asked me, “What sets you apart from all the other UPS suppliers, why should I use you?”

It’s a great question, one I think all UPS buyers should be asking. Because when it comes to keeping your critical systems working if the power fails, it isn’t just a matter of having a UPS, it’s knowing that UPS will work when it needs to.

So what did I say? How did I answer her? That was easy 😁

📢 We won’t try to sell you anything if you don’t need anything.

It’s true. Focus Power isn’t interested in making a fast buck. We are interested in building relationships. We will come to your site, we will learn about what is important to you, what you need. If you already have UPS equipment we will health check and assess it and if nothing needs to be done, we will drink our coffee (we do like a brew ☕) and leave you in peace. If your existing equipment isn’t currently being maintained and looks like it needs a service or some maintenance, we will happily provide you with a quotation to do this, but you don’t have to use us. If you don’t already have a UPS, but you want one, we will help you to specify the right system and provide you a quotation for a solution that meets your application and budget. But you don’t have to buy one from us (although obviously we hope you will, because we are pretty confident that we will be the best and most cost effective supplier).

📢 We are completely independent.

Unlike many of our competitors, we are not affilated with or contractually bound to any one manufacturer. This gives us the freedom to specify equipment from several different respected manufacturers, depending on the space, safety, runtime, power and budget requirements of our customers.

📢 We are engineers not salespeople.

We are a team of electrically qualified, experienced and industry respected engineers. Our core business is installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing UPS systems and power protection/conversion equipment for our direct customers and for other UPS manufacturers and resellers. Hence, our business does not rely on product sales. Which means we can and do sell UPS systems at very competitive rates. In fact, it is often more cost effective for you to buy a system from us than directly from the manufacturer.

📢 We do it all.

We can manage your whole project from start to finish. We can decommision and remove/recycle/dispose of any existing equipment and we can work with you to specify the best solution for your application, then we can deliver it, electrically install it, build the battery (if needed), conduct SAT and load bank testing and commission your system. We can provide on-site training for your staff, and we offer great value service and maintainence contracts for the life of your equipment.

So my question to anyone considering a new UPS supplier is, “Why would you use anyone else?”
